Where would I be?
I could not imagine going through high school or college without the accompaniment of the world wide web.
The internet has changed how everyone lives their lives. Even thoose who refuse to use it, are some how forced to learn. My grandfather, in his 70s, refuses to get a cellular phone, use the internet, or even get a cordless home phone. Last year he was forced to use the internet to buy a car. He worked for Chrysler and now receives discounts only available if you use the online purchase tool. Too bad Grandpa, you gotta get with the new technology.
The internet has made me impatient and obsessive compulsive regularly. I have to check my email, facebook and craigslist for job posts every five minutes or I feel like I have missed something major. If I don’t have a computer near, a cell phone will do.
Anything I do is somehow connected to the web. I have to make a doctors appointment, I request it on the web. I need the number to a store I am going to, I go to the web, not the yellowbook. Why does yellowbook even publish anymore? I can get my news, research, phone numbers, addresses, go shopping and trade portfolios. I can even open a checking account. Anything I do, it is somehow connected to the internet.
That reminds me, I have to buy train tickets to visit my parents; gotta go to amtrak.com
